Stewardship: Day 23

-- Revised Standard

Genesis 14:14 When Abram heard that his kinsman had been taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen of them, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. 15 And he divided his forces against them by night, he and his servants, and routed them and pursued them to Hobah, north of Damascus. 16. and recovered everything--the loot that had been taken, his relative Lot, and all of Lot's possessions, including the women and other captives.

Here we see Abramís act of faithful stewardship by acknowledging his responsibility as head of his family, including Lotís family and all his possessions. Abram and his men pursued, attacked and defeated the enemy and recovered all that was taken. As the head of his family, Abraham had the God given responsibility to protect and properly manage the things that God had entrusted to him. Because of Abramís faithfulness to act in accordance with Godís principles, God blessed Abram by giving him total and complete victory over his enemies.

We as Christians should also take the attitude that the things God has entrusted us with, we should be faithful stewards over. This includes our family, time, money and possessions

Confession:

All good things come from God. I make the commitment to faithfully manage my family, time, money, and all the possessions that God has entrusted to me. As I am faithful to act according with Godís principles of stewardship, God will give me victory in all areas of my life.
