In My Name

Mark 11:24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Your prayer life is a very important aspect of your relationship with God the Father. Through prayer you express your love and devotion, through prayer you thank God for His Goodness and Mercy.

"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever." 1 Chronicles 16:34.

Through prayer you express your needs and take you problems to The Father. Through prayer you intercede for others. Yes, your prayer life is very important.

Throughout His life hereon earth Jesus taught us how to pray and why we pray.

" So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven." Luke 11:2

We need to realize that we are to pray according to Godís will. That does not mean that we end all our prayers with "if it be thy will, Lord." Praying Godís will is praying His Word. We have to get into the Word, learn what God says and then praying according to what He says. It is Godís will that all should not perish but have eternal life. "that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:15-16.

It is Godís will for you to be healed. " who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed." 1 Peter2:24.

It is Godís will for you and your family to be saved. "So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.'' Acts 16:31.

Notice that each aspect of Godís will brings glory to the Father. "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." John 14:13.

When you pray in Jesusí name - whatever you ask in Godís will - will be done so that the Father can be glorified in the son. Everything we ask and do should glorify God. Every action we take should reflect God, His Love, His Compassion - everything should reflect God the Father and glorify Him. When someone is saved, God is glorified! When your whole family is saved and walking with God, God is glorified! When someone is healed, God is glorified! Yes, you pray in Jesusí name to Glorify the Father!

It is also Godís will that you bear fruit. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." John 15:7-8.

What does it mean to bear fruit? A healthy ripe vine bears fruit. When we are born again, we are to do the works of Christ, the results of that work is the fruit we bear. When we lead someone else to Christ, that is bearing fruit. When we pray for someone or help someone in need, that is bearing fruit. One of the fruits of your reborn spirit is everlasting life. You have the life of God dwelling in you, the spirit of life, not death and you will live forever with Christ. . "But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life." Romans 6:22.

Your reborn spirit also bears other fruit. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."Gal.5:22,23

The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We feed our spirit the Word of God and our spirit grows and we bear the fruit of the spirit and show joy, love, peace, longsuffering etc. We cultivate these as a result of spending time in the Word and fellowshipping with God the Father. The fruit of the spirit is also in all goodness, righteousness and truth. "For ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), proving what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them."

Ephesians 5:8-11.

Before we were reborn, we were children of the darkness, living lives of sin, controlled by the god of this world, Satan. Now were are children of God and we walk as children of light, bearing the fruit of the spirit in all righteousness, goodness and truth. We do things Godís way, we talk Godís talk, we think Godís thoughts. We live a righteous, holy life, doing good and speaking truth in everything. We are not to even have fellowship with the unfruitful works of the world, the worldís way of doing things. WE are to walk a

Godly holy life. We do this by abiding in Christ and let His words abide in us. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." John 15:7-8.

When we spend time in the Word, when we spend time in prayer, we are abiding in, dwelling with Christ and God the Father. When we study the Word and meditate on the Word, we are abiding in Christ and His words abide in us. Then we can ask in His Name what we desire and we will bear much fruit and be His disciples.

Jesus also taught us that whatsoever we ask in His name He will give us that our joy might be full.

" And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." John 16:23-24.

God wants nothing but goodness in your life. He loves you wants nothing for you but goodness.

He wants your needs met, He wants you healthy, He wants you prosperous, He wants you to grow in all spiritual wisdom and knowledge. "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. " Philippians 4:19 "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 2

Jesus has taught us three important things about praying. He has taught us that we are to pray in His name so that: 1. The Father will be glorified. 2. That we will bear fruit. 3. That our joy will be full.

God is so good! When we pray we need to follow these 3 guidelines, but also as our first Scripture reference Mark 11:24 states we need to expect to receive! "And fixing his eyes on him, with John,

Peter said, "Look at us.'' So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them." Acts 3:4-5

Father, I thank you for your Word. I thank you that we can come to you in prayer, in Your Sonís Jesus name and ask according to your Word and you will give us our petitions. Give me a hunger for your Word, Lord, so that I will abide in it and Your Words will abide in me. Help me to remember your Word when I pray, so that I will always pray according to your Word. You tell us, Father, that you hear us when we pray according to Your Word. I thank you for that. I thank you that I can have the confidence that when I pray, you hear me. Help me to always glorify you in everything I do. Help me to always bear fruit that glorifies you in every walk of my life. Thank you for meeting my needs, and causing me to prosper, even as my soul prospers, as I daily talk with you, study your Word and walk with you. Father God, I love you so much, you are so Good. Thank you Father, Praise your Holy Name.

In Jesus name, Amen.

If you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior, or you have the privilege of leading someone to the Lord, I urge you to pray this prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come to you in the name of Jesus.

Your word says, "Öand the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out." (Jn.6:37),

So I know You wonít cast me out, but You take me in,

And I thank you for it.

You said in your Word, "whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'' (Ro. 10:13).

I am calling on Your name, So I know You have saved me now,

You also said, "Öthat if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. " (Ro.10:9,10).

I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification.

And I confess Him now as my Lord,

Because Your Word says, "Ö with the heart one believes to righteousnessÖ" and I do believe with my heart,

I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:21),

And I am saved! Thank You, Lord!

I can now truthfully say, I see myself as a born again child of God!

Glory to God!!!! Amen.
