Stewardship: Day 25
Malachi 3:10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now in this,'' says the Lord of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.
11. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil; and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts.
Tithing is an absolute principle of Godís Word that preceded the law, during the law and after the law. It was first introduced when Melchizedek received the tithe from Abram.
The tithe (1/10th) of all of our increase belongs to the Lord, and is a basic principle of Christian stewardship. Bringing all the tithes into the storehouse (local church) is a means God uses to provide for His people. This opens the windows of Heaven so that God may pour out His blessings upon us. Godís house is provided for, and the churchís needs are met. We are the church.
The giving of tithe is an act of worship reflecting the gratitude of our hearts, acknowledging His Lordship and ownership of our lives and everything He entrusts to us. It shows our total dependency on Him.
The Word of God says that without faith it is impossible to please God. (Heb 11:6) The giving of the tithe requires faith, which pleases and moves God to bless us and provide for all our needs in every area of our lives.
This is a challenge from God Himself where He says to prove Him. He is issuing a challenge to prove Him and put Him to the test to see if He will not abundantly bless us, so much so, that there will not be enough room to receive it all. What a God we serve!
Lord, I am a tither. I bring my tithe into your storehouse. Therefore the enemy is rebuked and the curse is broken. I live under an open Heaven. You pour out upon me such a blessing there is not enough room to receive it. Thank you for providing for all my needs in every area of my life.
