Different Ways God Heals

If you will study healing throughout the New Testament especially, you will see there are gifts of healing s and miracles in manifestation through the holy men of God by the Holy Spirit. You will also see there are other instances of healing where the faith of the person is what brought about the healing.

You will see Jesus said, your faith has made you whole or something very similar to this many times. If Jesus said your faith has made you whole, then I would have to take His word for it, wouldn't you?

I would encourage you to do a study on this and see for yourself how many times the faith of the person was involved in their own healing. There are many such instances, not in every case, but many times this is so. I believe this is the highest form of faith there is. I believe not all people can receive this way. I have seen personally, people receive divine healing both by their own faith and also have seen people healed through a special anointing, the ministry gifts in operation. In all cases God was glorified.  There are examples of these different types in the New Testament, let's take a look at a few of them.

Acts 14:8-10. And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!'' And he leaped and walked.

You see here that Paul observed him intently, and saw that the man had faith to be healed, and he was, and God was glorified.

In another similar instance you will see no mention of the faith of the individual.

Acts 3:1-9. Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us.'' So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.'' And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

This man was only expecting to receive alms or we would say money, wasn't he. There is no mention of his faith for healing, yet he was healed, and once again God was glorified. In both instances God was glorified. I think we put God in a box and think He has to do things a certain way. He knows the hearts of men and what they are capable of receiving, but God always gets the glory, regardless of what method He is using.

I strongly believe in divine healing, and have for many years now. I was raised Catholic, however my mother always told me of instances in her life, and that of other members of her family were miraculously healed by God. God loves Catholics too.

I would like to share one with you, hopefully this will encourage you.

My mother is in her seventies now, yet when she was a little girl, her sister died of a contagious disease, my mother also contacted the same disease and the doctors said she would die also. Their house was quarantined as was the custom in those days. One day a Nazarene lady who lived across the street came over, opened the front door and said, I have come to pray for who ever is sick. She looked around the room and say my mother laying sick on the sofa and was also 4 at the time and said come here. She was very scared but  managed to came over to her. This woman then spoke softly to her and said it’s ok, I want to pray for you, she sat down on the sofa and asked her to lay across her lap. She laid one hand on my mothers shoulder and one hand on her hip and commanded sickness to leave her body in the name of Jesus. Then she also laid her hand on my mothers head and also spoke healing in the name of Jesus, My mother said She can remember this like it happened yesterday. It felt like warm honey went all over her body, and all the pain instantly left and she was instantly healed. The woman then said healed children don’t need to be laying down sick they need to get up and go play, and she did. This is just one instance, I could share many. Too many for this page.

I was born again at the age of 17 and since I had heard this and other wonderful things about God, I found it very easy to believe in and receive divine healing for myself. I believe there is a ministry gift of healing, as the Bible talks about gifts of healings, many ministers of God have a gift of healing operating in their ministry, this is as the Holy Spirit wills. Then there is the prayer of faith and the prayer of agreement. Jesus says if Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.   (Mt:18:19.)

And then there is believers believing God and receiving healing for themselves.

Mk.11:22. So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God.
23. "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, `Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says.
24. "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
25. "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

There is also The prayer of faith for believers to call on the elders of the church for prayer.

James 5:14-15. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

You will notice it is not the prayer of the elders that caused God to raise him up, it is the prayer of faith. I learned this as a newly saved teenager, when I laid hands on someone according to James, for the purpose of healing, and God instantly healed them. I was certainly no elder. It is the prayer of faith that will save the sick. Remember faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Knowing and understanding the will of God will produce faith. Your faith level will never rise above your knowledge of Gods will.

1 John 5:14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
We can know with confidence that healing is the will of God. and when we get the revelation of Gods word on the subject our faith will rise up.

1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed.
Is a good place to start.

Many people like to argue doctrine about healing from God, His Word is clear to all that will believe it.
God's Word is true and always accomplishes what it was sent to do.

These are just a few of the examples of  different kinds of healing in the New Testament, I would encourage you to study these and other types of healing for yourself. Check out the Gospels as well and you will see that there were varied types of healing in Jesus ministry.    Sometimes he healed with His Word.

Matthew 8:16  When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,

Other times the faith of the person was what caused the healing to take place.

Matthew 9:29  Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be to you.''

I would encourage you to reach out with your faith and receive Jesus as your healer as well as your Savior.  He is both you know!
